The Cock Sock aka The Condom

by L. Silverfox on August 31, 2009

Raincoat, Glove, Cock Sock, Hazmat Suit, or Rubber, no matter what you call them, it has been well established the importance of condoms as a way to protect ones self from an unwanted pregnancy, and from STD’s. I first off want to say that I highly endorse the use of condoms as a form to protect yourself, especially if you’re not sure of the sexual history of your partner!

Condoms have changed a lot in the past decade from the condoms on the market in my teen years. Back then condoms were all the same; latex (you had to hunt like a dog to find non-latex versions), the basic sizes, the decrease in sensitivity, and the general embarrassment of having to purchase them at the drug store.

Today condoms are the norm, and most preferred method of contraceptive and protection against STDs. Condoms now come with ridges, spirals, spikes and ticklers – all designed with the added pleasure for the receiver in mind. Improvements have also been made for the men wearing the condom as well. Condoms now come in regular, ultra sensitive, ultra thin, and a wide variety of sizes to suit any man’s personal need.

To mix things up a bit, condoms now also come in a wide selection of wild colors, scents and flavors. Colors such as red, green blue, neon colors, black and even glow in the dark, can often spice things up and add some humor between the sheets. Tasty flavors like strawberry, banana, vanilla and even mint make using a condom for oral sex so much better than years ago. No one enjoyed that unique, and forever lasting taste of latex in his or her mouth. Ah yes, the taste of latex, no matter what you drank, ate or gargled, you kept that disgusting, rancid flavor on your tongue for hours after the fact.

Since we’re on the topic of condoms, I have to bring up my favorite version of the condom – The Female Condom, or as I commonly refer to them as “The Wind Sock”. Seriously what woman in their right mind would actually use this as a method or protection? Have you seen these things? They’re about 6 ½ inches long that you pretty much un-roll and insert into your va-jj, with a ring that you can see from the outside holding the entire contraption in place. Oh baby, now that’s hot! Not to mention trying to remove it after the fact. Gravity is not your friend at this point in time, and I personally cannot see how you’re going to remove it without spilling everything all over the place. I can understand why it was created – the idea of having woman be more responsible for her own protection, but still, the overall design just bites!

The idea of women being more in control over their protection is something I highly agree with. Women should not expect men to be the only ones responsible for the purchase and carrying of condoms. In today’s world, its more important than every to have a condom with you for new sexual partners, and women have to keep this in mind. There is a product on the market now that I just love, and its whole purpose is to allow women a discreet way to carry their own condoms in a safe manner. “Just in Case” (www.justincaseinc.com) is a line of condom case compacts for women that come in a variety of stylish designs that look exactly like a simple makeup compact. They all come with a hidden compartment to store two condoms, and offer women a safe, effective and discreet way to carry their own condoms.

The condom has come a long way from its humble beginnings, and I’m sure it will continue to evolve and change as we move forward. The condom is the most effective method of birth control and to protect yourself from sexual transmitted diseases – so be sure to always carry one with you, because you never know when some fun will come your way!
