The Pleasures of the Prince Albert

by JupaMan on October 5, 2009

So I had a user write a comment on one of my articles here on blogrotica.ca asking for some information on sexual pleasure on a penis piercing or “Prince Albert” as it is called. You can read the story by clicking on the below: http://www.blogrotica.ca/blog/2009/07/sexual-toys-for-everybody-by-jupaman/

Since I personally don’t have a Prince Albert, I have conducted a poll of males and females to get their input on this very interesting subject.

First of all, for those not familiar with a penis piercing or “Prince Albert” as it is called, let me get you acquainted.

The Prince Albert is a genital piercing where a ring or curved barbell enters the penis near the fermium (ridge on the underside of the penis that connects the shaft to the head) and exits through the urethra at the tip of the penis. (ouch) Basically, you have a big ol’ piece of metal running through the underside of the head of the penis. You can view some pics by visiting the link below:

So here’s the scoop on the information I have gathered:

The pleasure enhancements with males is kind of a 50/50 split, some claim that it does enhance their sex life, others don’t feel the difference. Some guys have told me that if they use the barbell piercing that goes across the bottom of the penis, then they can definitely feel the Prince Albert as it moves under their urethra as they penetrate the woman. Not sure how I would feel about that. There’s nothing better I like than just skin on skin. I guess I’m old fashioned that way.

When it comes to the women, they all said that there’s no difference in their sexual experiences with the Prince Albert. My guess is; and most would agree with me when I mentioned it is because it doesn’t affect the G Spot directly. Remember the Prince Albert is “under” the head of your penis. In order for woman to actually feel it, it would have to be in the reverse cowgirl position. However even that’s not guaranteed that it will work for her.

Females also have the fear that with the friction, the metal will rub the condom and break. Unless the piercing is across the underside of the urethra and with spikes instead of a ball, I don’t see it happening. Why? Well think about it, if it could tear the condom, it could also tear the skin. That won’t be the case because the metal used for the piercing is smooth. If there’s any doubt on the mind of the couple about the condom breaking, then you can use a drop of water-soluble lube at the tip of the head before putting on the condom.

Last complaint about the Prince Albert is when the girl is sucking off a guy, it’s a tremendous discomfort to have the metal banging on your teeth when they are performing their oral duties. Most have told me that they have resorted to actually just licking the head and the shaft, or do a very, very slow up and down motion when they put the whole thing in their mouth. You have to keep in mind, that the piercing is metal, so going at it orally too fast, can actually chip your tooth.

Some advice to the guys that are interested in getting this type of piercing:

- Uncircumcised men can receive this piercing but the circular barbell may be more comfortable than the captive bead rings.

- Additionally, the foreskin can be pierced with either single or multiple piercings. The Prince Albert is only one of several male genital piercings that are available.

- Also, you can get what is called the reverse Prince Albert which is where the ring is actually through the top of the head, instead of the underside.

So there you have it, that’s what I have learned on this interesting journey in finding out about the Prince Albert and the sexual pleasures that it might or might not bring to both partners. So what do YOU think? If you have one or if you are a female that has experienced a sexual encounter with a Prince Albert, please let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment below. We would love to hear from you.

I read your article and i cant help but wince just a tad, as for me i am old fashion to an extent. what inspired you to choose this as a topic of discussion?

Hey Glass Dragon,
I was feeling the same way as I was doing the research for this article. When I did an open call on twitter and facebook, I got all my friends in the industry and a lot not in the industry telling me what they like and don’t like about the Prince Albert, and even some of their personal sexual experiences that I kept private.
I kept wincing every time I read a story, like the girl that got her lower left tooth chipped from giving her bf a vigorous BJ.
Also another issue that I thought I added to the article is the fact that since the piercing is through the urethra, that now there will be an extra hole where “pee” can sometimes come out from when going to the bathroom. that can get messy at the urinal.

The story was inspired from a reader on this blog wanting to know if he should get one, and he was wondering if there were sexual benefits to getting one. With me only having one ear pierced and only one tattoo, I decided to go on a mission and do my homework on the subject. When I was done with my research and talking to people, the article was born. I did learn a lot about it though, and it was a very interesting subject to research. However I don’t think I would ever want to have a needle so close to my crotch, much less having one more hole that shouldn’t be there.

Thanks for asking Glass Dragon

Thank you for responding Jupaman

maybe to some people pain is another form of pleasure that is why some would consider the key chain look. I am not judging others on what they get their kinks from, as long as they enjoy it themselves is what counts, but there is a lot of pros and cons with such an accessory. In some cultures it is symbolic to have piercings, for others its to test the limitations of the body and mind, how much one can endure pain and so on.

but in my opinion it would seem after having that part of you pierced… it would only leave you vulnerable to unwanted infections or…like you said..a fountain when you pee.

Thank you for the conversation

Hey guys,

Speaking from experience, urine will NOT come out of the hole on the bottom of your penis. It heals perfectly around the ring so that that doesn’t happen. And as for infection, if you clean it as you are supposed to, infection is not an issue.

The pain is not as much to deal with as you would think. Sure, it does hurt, but not like you’d think. The worst part is gauging. The needle isn’t bad, it’s the sizing up that hurts.
